The shopping cart sidebar widget provides users/customers with an overview/summary of their current order on your website.
The shopping cart widget also allows you to make use of the Ajax add to basket feature which adds products from a product page or category page directly to the shopping cart using Ajax technology without refreshing the page. You will need to turn this on in the “Settings” section of the plugin though.
Apart from the sidebar widget which displays a summary of the basket, configurable in the “Design” > “Widgets” section of your Wordpress dashboard, there is one of two ways of displaying the shopping cart to your customers/users. You can choose your preferred method by changing the “Cart Layout” configuration setting in the “Settings” section. You can either use a Wordpress page or a blank layout.
The shopping cart page is used to present the current order of a customer to them. The cart will display all the current products in the basket, each with useful details and a price. The cart will also display a sub total, any shipping, discounts, etc… available for the specified order and a total amount for the order.
