WordPress Newsletter Plugin : Total Control Extension Plugin

 

Requirements

The Total Control extension plugin has the following requirements:

 

Installation

1. Make sure that you have the WordPress Newsletter plugin installed and that you have purchased the Total Control extension plugin.

2. Download Total Control extension plugin extension from the downloads management section in a ZIP archive (you may need to log in to your Tribulant Software account in order to access your download). Save the newsletters-control.zip file to a location on your hard drive.

 

Automatic Installation

3. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload in your WordPress dashboard where you can browse to the newsletters-control.zip file and then click the “Install Now” button.

Manual Installation

3. Extract the ZIP archive named newsletters-control.zip in order to be presented with a single folder named newsletters-control.

4. Upload the newsletters-control folder to the wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress installation, as seen in the example image below. Follow the upcoming activation instructions to activate the Newsletters Total Control extension plugin.

 

Activation

Once you have installed the Total Control extension via FTP you need to activate it.

To activate it you need to go to Plugins > Installed Plugins section via your admin sidebar in your WordPress dashboard (where you installed the plugin). There you will see the extension as a plugin listed amongst other plugins. Refer to the screenshots below.

Once activated under Plugins > Installed Plugins you can view the extension and settings under Newsletters > Extensions:

Usage

Allow and control the way individual users and role groups access and use your Newsletter plugin installation on your site. Click on settings under Newsletters > Extensions to access the settings of the extension.

1. Enable

Turn this setting on or off to enable or disable the use of Total Control.

2. Global Serial Key

You can specify a NEWSLETTERS_SERIAL constant in wp-config.php, e.g., define(“NEWSLETTERS_SERIAL”, “serialkeyhere”);

3. Queue Redirect

Here you can choose where do you want the control user to be redirect after queueing an email. Choose whether you want the user to be redirect to a custom url or to the email queue.

 

Mail settings

Enable/disable default mail type by ticking “Yes, enable a preconfigured mail type” option. If the option is enabled, you can choose between SMTP and local server option.

 

Notifications

4. Notification Emails

Enter the email address where you want to receive the notification emails of the control user.

5. Template for Notifications

Specify a specific newsletter template to use for notifications. Or leave empty for the system default.

6. Subscriber Limit Notify

Enable or disable a notification email for when a subscribers limit is close. This notification email can be set under Newsletters > Configuration > System Emails > Subscriber Limits

7. Email Limit Notify

Enable or disable a notification email for when an email limit is close. This notification email can be set under Newsletters > Configuration > System Emails > Email Limits

8. Queued Notify

Enable this setting if you wish to receive an email each time a newsletter is queued.

 

Branding

Change the default labels of the admin menu items and plugin’s name label to your liking by filling in the text boxes. Don’t forget to save the settings.

 

Features

Specify the allowed mail types by ticking any or all available mail types checkboxes.

 

Limitations

9. Show Limit Message

Check this checkbox to show an admin bar node “Newsletters Limits” to controlled users to display their remaining subscriber/email/etc. limitations.

10. Subscriber Limit

Enter a subscriber limit. If this limit is reached, no more subscribers will be added.

11. Global Subscriber Limit

Enter a subscriber limit for the entire site.

12. Email Limit

Choose an email limit, if this email limit is reached, no more emails can be sent. You can set an email limit all the time, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly etc. Leave this open if you don’t want to set an email limit.

13. Global Email Limit

Choose an email limit for entire website, if this email limit is reached, no more emails can be sent.

 

Restrictions

14. Newsletter Limitation

Limit email access to sent & draft emails. Newsletters > Sent & Draft Emails

  • Limit by User – Give users only access to their own created emails.
  • Limit by User Role – Give all users of a specific user role access to specified lists. All history emails assigned to these lists will be available in sent & draft emails.

15. List Limitations

Specify how you want to control access to mailing lists per user or per role. E.g., You can give a certain user “editor” access to certain mailing list and another user “author” access to other mailing lists or all mailing lists.

16. Snippet Limitations

You can limit the availability of users or roles as needed. E.g., Give a user “author” access to terms and conditions and another user “editor” no access.

14. Theme Limitations

You can limit themes to users that have access to the plugins section. Limit themes per user individually, per user role or turn it off to make all themes available for all users that have access.
