Payeezy / Clover by First Data

The Payeezy / Clover by First Data  payment gateway has been integrated into the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin with the Connect 2.0 in Fullpay mode. You can enable this payment method in the ‘Configuration’ section of the plugin by checking/ticking its checkbox and then configuring the gateway accordingly. The plugin requires a name, store number and test account status.

The Fullpay mode is the simplest payment processing solution for an online merchant. All of the customer billing and shipping information is collected over the secure payment gateway and stored in the First Data Global Gateway Connect database. You can view this information in your reports in the First Data Global Gateway Virtual Terminal. You must collect product data and calculate the chargetotals for each order. Any additional costs charged for the purchase, such as tax and shipping, must also be added, and compiled by your web site. Finally, you must implement a method for transferring the final chargetotal to the Chargetotal data field.

1. Setting up First Data

In order to start using the Checkout plugin with your First Data merchant account, there are several values you need to fill in. Login to your Global Gateway Virtual Terminal with your store number, user ID and password. From the top menu, go to ‘Administration’ > ‘Connect 2.0 Setup’. There are several fields which need URL values. Below are each of the field names with their values. Please replace ‘http://www.domain.com/shopping-cart/’ in all of the URLs below with your WordPress shopping cart page URL.

The “Shared Secret” is an additional form of security provided by using FirstData Connect 2.0. To get your shared secret you must login to your store, then go from the top tabs “Administration > Connect 2.0 Setup”. This will load to the page seen in the screenshot. To obtain your shared secret you must click on “Generate”. It will display a little message saying “Your settings have been changed successfully!” in a green text (seen in screenshot). You then need to click the “Export” button and it will dump your shared secret into a .txt file for you.

PLEASE NOTE: These URLs are very sensitive and the slightest difference between your First Data settings and the actual URLs on the site can cause errors so ensure that you carefully review them.

Tick both the ‘URL is a CGI Script’ and ‘Automatically display Confirmation Page after the Connect receipt page’ checkboxes for data to be passed back appropriately.

You can use the URL below to have the plugin display a failure message for you or alternatively you can use any URL of your choice which will inform the customer that the order has failed and that they need to retry the payment.

3. Plugin Configuration Settings

Payment Method Name

Simply specify the caption which will be displayed to your customers on the front-end, on the billing page during the checkout procedure.

Store Number

Your First Data/Linkpoint/YourPay supplied store number for usage with the Connect API.

Test Account

Set this to ‘Yes’ to turn on the test mode which will allow you to use a test account supplied by First Data/Linkpoint/YourPay in order to process transactions through the payment gateway without any charges being made. Be sure to use the correct store number for the test account though. In order to process test transactions, please use either one of the test credit card numbers below with any date in the future for the expiry date.
